You've found the blog of Jere Matlock, a web designer and writer. This journal is mostly about writing, web design and getting sites to the top of the search engines (SEO is my business). It is also full of opinions and observations about pretty much everything. If these things are not of interest to you, feel free to go now. Go on, shoo!

Still here? If you have something to say, post a comment or send me an email.

By the way, if you feel like taking offense at something posted on this site, go right ahead, it won't bother me a bit. Kingsley Amis has a nice quote about that, in which I take solace and some pride when the flames arrive:

"If you can't annoy somebody, there's little point in writing."

New quotes to savor

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

There were some great quotes in the Federalist newsletter (Patriot Post) today.

“The timid, civilized world has found nothing with which to oppose the
onslaught of a sudden revival of barefaced barbarity, other than concessions
and smiles.” —Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

“If you see a man approaching you with the obvious intent of doing you good,
you should run for your life.” —Henry David Thoreau

“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what
they do not want to hear.” —George Orwell

Dennis Clarke: How Psychiatry is Making Drug Addicts out of America’s School Children

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Dennis Clarke, whom I’ve respected for about the last 30 years, has been a very hard-hitting spokesman for Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights. His television appearances are memorable and intensely enjoyable; he has enough facts memorized to go up against any psychiatrist in a debate and expose the pseudo-science and lack of any scientificfoundation of their most cherished and idiotic beliefs about brain chemistry, chemical imbalance, etc. He’s written this linked article about the whole process of the wholesale labeling and drugging of children by psychiatry in the schools.

TeenScreen Lawsuit gets Green Light in Federal Court

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Here’s an example of Teen Screen in action. In Indiana, 15-year old Chelsea Rhoades is herded into a room with 10 other kids and put in front of a computer where she has to answer questions yes or no, with no explanations allowed. Asked if she likes to clean, she says “yes”. Asked if she likes to go to parties, she says “no”.

She is then labeled as having “obsessive-compulsive disorder” and “social anxiety disorder”. Now what? They try to require her to take drugs, of course! Psych drugs that cause suicidal ideation and homicidal ideation, among many other …

CCHR Public Service Announcement

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

This PSA from Citizens Commission on Human Rights is emotionally powerful and completely truthful.

Click to view Candace PSA, which urges people to find out the facts about suicides and anti-depressants. So far approximately 63,000 people have committed suicide while on anti-depressants. These drugs CAUSE suicidal and homicidal ideation — that’s psych speak for creating urges to kill onesell and others.

Candace was only 12 years old.
