You've found the blog of Jere Matlock, a web designer and writer. This journal is mostly about writing, web design and getting sites to the top of the search engines (SEO is my business). It is also full of opinions and observations about pretty much everything. If these things are not of interest to you, feel free to go now. Go on, shoo!
Still here? If you have something to say, post a comment or send me an email.

By the way, if you feel like taking offense at something posted on this site, go right ahead, it won't bother me a bit. Kingsley Amis has a nice quote about that, in which I take solace and some pride when the flames arrive:
"If you can't annoy somebody, there's little point in writing."

Saturday was a perfect spring day here in Coastal Oregon. Sunny and crisp. I took my dog for a long walk; it felt good to get outside again and look around.
When I first got to the ranch 8 years ago, I brought with me a Pentax ME Super camera, which I’ve had since about 1980. I’ve taken tens of thousands of shots with it: product shots beyond number for websites and promo materials and documentation for various businesses and I’ve been in over the years, family portraits, etc. Basically a lot of film went through that camera over 20 …

This group MindFree.org has similar goals to CCHR. MindFree headquarters seems to be in Eugene, Oregon. Their leaders seem to be survivors of psychiatric repression. I like their tag line, “Mad Pride”. Psychiatric labeling has no basis in reality, those damaged by it could do worse than joining up with MindFree.org. Although I think for any really effective steps against psychiatry, you’d need to be a member of CCHR. It’s been CCHR that has gotten closed down hundreds of psych hospitals in the last decade. Their tireless documentation of and exposure of psychiatric abuse gets them my deep respect.

As it says in the black box warning on psych drugs, they can create homicidal and suicidal ideation. Fancy words for making you go into a killing rage. Here’s a quote from the Chicago Tribune:
Professor Carolyn Rude, chairwoman of the university’s English department, said she did not personally know the gunman. But she said she spoke with Lucinda Roy, the department’s director of creative writing, who had Cho in one of her classes and described him as “troubled…”
“She said Cho was referred to the counseling service, but she said she did not know when, or what the outcome …

This image is being circulated by one of my clients, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. After 9/11, they offered free training to any pilots that wanted to receive it, as long as those pilots were then allowed to carry firearms on their planes. I’m not sure where THAT stands right now, as I head that some airlines were allowing pilots to carry firearms, and others were not. Would love to know the current status of that, if anyone wants to comment.
The picture says it all.
I believe there’s a lot of truth in this. I have a daughter in college …

This video on Youtube is worth seeing, about the controversial and dangerous teenscreen program. That’s the program where state legislatures across the country are considering putting every child through a psych screening program. Kids who fail the psych exam are put on psych drugs, and thus (according to this video) they become 15 times more likely to commit suicide. Psych drugs are not the answer to the problems of adolescence. Who would have thought that this battle to keep kids out of the hands of psychiatrists pushing drugs for the pharmaceutical companies would be so controversial. It makes absolute sense to …

There’s a great photo slide show of some of the Scientology celebrities on this TV station’s website: WCBSTV Scientology Celebrities Slide Show. Some of my favorite actresses are Scientologists: Kirstie Alley, Marisol Nichols, Katherine Bell, Anne Archer, Kelly Preston and Jenna Elfman among many others. And I’ll watch any movie with Giovanni Ribisi in it, or Tom Cruise or John Travolta. They seem so very alive, and it’s great to see them doing things to help the Church of Scientology and working with CCHR to help stop the psychiatrists (those pawns of big pharma) in their plans to drug every child in …

As reported by Citizens Commission on Human Rights on their psychiatric crimes documentation site:
· In early 2007, the death of Anna Nicole Smith was traced to a lethal combination of psychiatric drugs prescribed to her by psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich, who was treating Smith. Eroshevich prescribed Smith eleven drugs, including antipsychotics, anti-anxiety drugs and sedatives—a lethal combination which killed 39-year-old Smith. According to media reports, Eroshevich is now under investigation by the California Medical Board.
· In February 2003, Florida psychiatrist George Kubski was jailed for 12 months for the death of a patient due to drug toxicity; he had prescribed more than …

Reported in the LA Times, Dr. William Ayres, 75, a former president of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, was arrested without incident at his home in Northern California and charged with 14 counts of lewd and lascivious acts on children under age 14. This isn’t some unknown psychiatrist, this is a prominent, honored leader of psychiatry in California.
According to the article, Dr. Ayres was the leading psychiatrist in Northern California for adolescents for many years, and untold numbers of kids were referred to him. He then fondled/molested many of these kids.
Imagine - you are a …

As an owner of three horses, they own a big chunk of my time every day. One of them is even rideable, when I get the urge. There’s a new equine search engine (a marketing client of mine) that focuses on the various disciplines within the equine world, such as dressage, western, trail riding, etc. It’s an interesting concept and I’m watching it as it grows in popularity and Google ranking. It seems to be in the sandbox at Google at this time, but that shouldn’t last too much longer.
