Reported in the LA Times, Dr. William Ayres[link died], 75, a former president of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, was arrested without incident at his home in Northern California and charged with 14 counts of lewd and lascivious acts on children under age 14. This isn’t some unknown psychiatrist, this is a prominent, honored leader of psychiatry in California.
According to the article, Dr. Ayres was the leading psychiatrist in Northern California for adolescents for many years, and untold numbers of kids were referred to him. He then fondled/molested many of these kids.
Imagine – you are a troubled adolescent sent to this man for “help”. He then preys on you and if you complain about it, says you’re delusional.
His “help” is pure betrayal.
And that’s psychiatry at work.
Right on! Sock it to em. We have to get this more and more into the public eye so that it doesn’t continue!
