Fun With “My Page Rank Is…”

This interesting button Get your Google PageRank

is coded thusly:

<a href="http://www.urltrends.com/" target="_blank"
 title="Get your Google PageRank">
<img src="http://www.urltrends.com/pagerankimg.php"
border="0" height="25" width="100"
alt="Get your Google PageRank" /></a>

It is available from URL Trends

It goes and gets your PageRank from Google and displays it on your site.

Of course, if a bazillion people start doing that, it will give URL Trends significiant PageRank. Nice gimmick. For URL Trends. Not worth beans, otherwise, unless to stoke the fires of obsession of those fixated on their own Google PageRank.

All the kids in the neighborhood are going to want one now!

I’m much more interested in how a site does when this kind of search string is searched for at Google:

jmblog.com -site:jmblog.com

That’s the best measure of the actual number of links that Google knows about for any site, that I’ve been able to come up with.
