You've found the blog of Jere Matlock, a web designer and writer. This journal is mostly about writing, web design and getting sites to the top of the search engines (SEO is my business). It is also full of opinions and observations about pretty much everything. If these things are not of interest to you, feel free to go now. Go on, shoo!

Still here? If you have something to say, post a comment or send me an email.

By the way, if you feel like taking offense at something posted on this site, go right ahead, it won't bother me a bit. Kingsley Amis has a nice quote about that, in which I take solace and some pride when the flames arrive:

"If you can't annoy somebody, there's little point in writing."

How one determined drug addict spearheaded effective drug rehabilitation around the world

Friday, January 8th, 2010

The good folks over at Narconon recently put together this video about the early days of Narconon, which has now been saving lives for over 40 years.

Although I found out about the Narconon drug rehabilitation program in 1972 when I was working in Los Angeles, and I visited their drug rehab center, I never met Willie Benitez. But I heard the story; as an addict and prisoner at Arizona State Prison in the mid-1960′s, Willie figured out how to apply some of the information developed by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Scientology …

New Neal Fox video – "Ask Your Doctor" is a hoot

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Love this new video from Neal Fox called “Ask your Doctor”. Turn up the sound and enjoy!

Be sure to read the text at the end: 100,000 people die from “correct” prescription drugs in the USA every year. Neal posits that the purpose of the FDA is no longer to “protect the public”, but that the FDA’s purpose now is to “protect the drug companies.” I think he’s on to something there….

Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon — has no clue

Monday, January 4th, 2010

I recently faxed Senator Jeff Merkley my reasons for opposing the massive Obamacare health plan that will put one sixth of the US economy under the Federal Government, at a cost of trillions of dollars.

His reply came a few days ago in the mail. It’s an obvious form letter he sent to answer all those annoying faxes that mysteriously piled up in his office from the thousands of people like me who faxed him our objections and asked him, as our senator, not to vote for Obamacare, which he did anyway.

The gist of his message to me is …

Tell the FDA to keep dangerous ECT machines listed as dangerous devices…

Monday, January 4th, 2010

The FDA is considering reclassifying ECT machines (Electro Convulsive Therapy or shock machines) as Class 2 devices instead of Class 3 devices (which are dangerous). This would allow more widespread use of these barbaric instruments by psychiatrists.

Note that ECT Machines have never been tested for “safety” — they can’t pass any such safety inspections or tests because they cause irrevocable harm to patients who are, for the most part, forcibly administered electro shock. Sending hundreds of volts of electricity through the brain is not something that should be condoned by the FDA.

Give the FDA a piece of your …
