You've found the blog of Jere Matlock, a web designer and writer. This journal is mostly about writing, web design and getting sites to the top of the search engines (SEO is my business). It is also full of opinions and observations about pretty much everything. If these things are not of interest to you, feel free to go now. Go on, shoo!

Still here? If you have something to say, post a comment or send me an email.

By the way, if you feel like taking offense at something posted on this site, go right ahead, it won't bother me a bit. Kingsley Amis has a nice quote about that, in which I take solace and some pride when the flames arrive:

"If you can't annoy somebody, there's little point in writing."

No more ADHD – Dr. Mary Anne Block tells why a diagnosis of ADHD is medically, scientifically bogus

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

This is an excellent little video from Dr. Mary Anne Block, Medical Director of The Block Center, describing why she wrote her book “No More ADHD” She succinctly describes what the real problems can be that psychiatrists label as ADD and ADHD, and then seek to mask or cover up their symptoms with drugs like Ritalin, that have serious side effects (including heart attack and death), and which can cause suicide when someone tries to withdraw from them.

Take three minutes and watch it.

1.2 million Angry Protesters March on Capital – and the mainstream news ignores it.

Monday, September 14th, 2009

I am greatly encouraged that the Tea Party movement was able to organize, on fairly short notice, getting about 1.2 million people to march on Washington DC.

That estimate of 1.2 million is from the Parks & Recreation department. Photos of the march tend to bear it out — it was a huge crowd.

Michelle Malkin’s site covered it pretty well. 9/12 march on Washington DC.

More power to the Tea Party! Love these and their signs say it well. “I’ll show your president all the respect you showed mine.”

If I know one thing, it’s that ignoring …

Pfizer fined $2.3 billion for illegal marketing to doctors, called a “repeat offender”

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

In a win for the health care of Americans everywhere, and a “mega fail” for Big Pharma, Pfizer has been fined $2.3 Billion in by the Justice Dept for illegal marketing to doctors, including paying for their golf trips, massage and resort junkets.

A Justice Dept official said that even as Pfizer was negotiating deals on past misconduct, they were continuing to violate the very same laws with other drugs. Note this is their 4th such settlement in a decade for illegal marketing.

To prevent backsliding this time, Pfizer’s conduct will be specially monitored by the Health and Human Service …
