I know Beck's parents were Scientologists and he went to a Scientology school. But was he always a Scientologist, or did he stop for awhile and then get back into it? Because I am pretty sure he indulged in some stupor-inducing substances back in the day. If Scientology helped him stop, more power to it, I guess!

I don't know if, in his younger days, Beck imbibed. It's up to the individual Scientologist whether he or she wants to have a drink on a Saturday night, take a Midol to relieve menstrual cramps, or take painkillers after surgery. No gang of Scientologists is going to show up and shame them or shun them or try to talk them out of it. A Scientologist with Type I Diabetes will shoot insulin every day like anyone else would. But you won't find practicing Scientologists (those who are on Scientology courses or getting Scientology auditing) abusing alcohol or "recreational" drugs. And the Church of Scientology (and many individual Scientologists) are working very hard to try to keep big pharma and their puppet psychiatrists from drugging every child in the world.

I do know that Juliette Lewis got pretty wild in her youth. I've known her since just after she was born (her mom is a friend). She credits Narconon -- which uses the Scientology drug rehabiliation tools -- with getting her off drugs. She seems to really like her career change -- she's touring with her own band, singing her heart out.

I don't think anybody really knows Lightfield... Glenis (his mom) sends out a great little "family news" newsletter that I always enjoy reading, but I have no data on when his movie's coming out. I always thought he would beceome a director because he usually had a camera pointed at someone and was bossing them around when he was a teenager.
