You've found the blog of Jere Matlock, a web designer and writer. This journal is mostly about writing, web design and getting sites to the top of the search engines (SEO is my business). It is also full of opinions and observations about pretty much everything. If these things are not of interest to you, feel free to go now. Go on, shoo!

Still here? If you have something to say, post a comment or send me an email.

By the way, if you feel like taking offense at something posted on this site, go right ahead, it won't bother me a bit. Kingsley Amis has a nice quote about that, in which I take solace and some pride when the flames arrive:

"If you can't annoy somebody, there's little point in writing."

London

2005-07-09: Rain here on the ranch today - it’s not supposed to rain in Oregon in July.

My prayers go out to those who died or lost loved ones in the bombings in London this week. If you don’t pray - give them a moment of silent, respectful contemplation and wish them well. I believe such praying or wishing can help and does more than you might think.

My friends at CCHR are encouraged by the tremendous amount of interest in their activities to corral psychiatry, being generated by the media hype surrounding Tom Cruise during the pre-release press junket he was on for War of the Worlds.

If you or a loved one has been mis-diagnosed or mis-treated by a psychiatrist, please contact CCHR. They can help you - they have helped thousands of people who have been raped, abused, tortured, etc., by psychiatrists and psych hospitals. CCHR has put hundreds of psychiatrists behind bars over the last 30-some years and is the only group that has consistently and continuously put out the message that psychiatry kills.

I’ve been a member since 1971 — and have my own reasons to know that psychiatry is a pseudoscience with no scientific basis. Here are some related sites. Feel free to visit and find out for yourself what CCHR is all about.
